Stops the cause of concrete failure — from inside the matrix.
Water is the root cause of most damage to concrete and plaster. It carries contaminants and chlorides into the substrate, causing reinforcement corrosion, frost shattering, efflorescence and weathering. Controll® Innerseal prevents the ingress of liquids and reinforces weathering material in a single treatment.
The product penetrates deep into capillaries, micro-cracks and pores. There, a reaction takes place between the active silicates and the free salts and minerals of the concrete, forming a very hard calcium silicate hydrate. This creates a crystalline structure that stops the transport of water but lets vapour pass through (diffusion).
Because the protection is deeply seated within the substrate, it is insensitive to external influences such as abrasion and impact. The treated surface does not become water repellent (hydrophobic) and can be coated afterwards with, for example, plaster, concrete or paint. If a water-repellent surface is required, a combined treatment with Controll® Topseal is recommended.
Where Innerseal works — and where it goes further with a partner.
Specified across construction, infrastructure, water and industry. For aggressive or high-wear environments, Innerseal is paired with a complementary Controll® treatment.
Standard use
Innerseal soloVery exposed areas
+ CondeckWhat it does — and what it does not.
Performs
- +Stops the ingress of water, chlorides and aggressive liquids
- +Reinforces and densifies the concrete from within
- +Fully vapour-permeable — substrate continues to breathe
- +Acid resistant and chemically stable in alkaline environments
- +Permanent — does not peel, flake or wear off
- +Reduces reinforcement corrosion and frost damage
- +Binds dust and improves surface integrity
Does not
- —Make the surface hydrophobic (water-beading)
- —Form a film or coating that can be worn off
- —Trap moisture inside the matrix
- —Require a second top-coat for basic protection
- —Need re-application after a service interval
- —Prevent later painting, plastering or coating
One treatment. Decades of consequence.
For the structure
- ●Extends service life of concrete structures significantly
- ●One-off, permanent treatment
- ●Diffusion-open — no trapped moisture
- ●Easier to keep clean once treated
- ●Can be coated or painted over after treatment
For the owner
- ●Environmentally friendly and certified
- ●Acid resistant — handles harsh service conditions
- ●Reduces maintenance and life-cycle costs
- ●Approved for potable-water contact up to 70 °C
- ●Lower carbon vs. tear-out & replacement cycle
When to pair Innerseal with another Controll® product.
Heavy wear · aggressive liquids
Industry · Car parksFor surfaces exposed to heavy mechanical wear or aggressive liquids — industrial floors, car parks, vehicle washing stations — finish with Controll® Condeck for additional surface hardening and abrasion resistance.
Water-repellent finish required
Façades · Porous mineralFor façades and porous mineral substrates where a water-repellent finish is desired, top the cured Innerseal layer with Controll® Topseal — a breathable hydrophobic finish that prevents staining and biological growth.
Independently tested. Specified by name.
Innerseal carries a full chain of third-party performance approvals — from the European concrete protection standard through to potable-water contact and reactor-containment classification.

What the substrate must look like — before the first pass.
The surface must be clean and free from dust, paint, grease, oil, old coatings or any other material that may obstruct absorption. Damage and visible cracks (> 1.0 mm) must be repaired prior to treatment. Protect glass, aluminium and other polished or painted surfaces to prevent etching.
The substrate temperature and ambient temperature during application — and for the following 24 hours — must be ≥ +5 °C. Avoid application in direct sunlight.
Two wet-in-wet coats — stop when it starts to gel.
Controll® Innerseal is delivered ready to use and must not be mixed with other liquids or diluted. Shake the container before use. Treat the spray mist with caution — it can travel long distances and damage glass.
Shake & load
Shake the container thoroughly. Load a low-pressure sprayer or saturate an impregnation roller. Do not dilute.
Apply wet-in-wet
Apply at least twice, with 5 – 15 min between coats. On horizontal slabs, pour out and keep in motion with a squeegee, brush or polish mop.
Saturate
Continue until full saturation — approx. 30 – 40 min on horizontal concrete. Prevent dry patches from forming during treatment.
Stop at gel
Stop when the product starts to "gel"; this occurs sooner on new concrete. Remove excess — otherwise shiny or white patches may form and impair adhesion of later coatings.
From foot traffic to full chemical resistance.
Coverage is 0.2 – 0.4 L/m² depending on the absorption capacity of the substrate and the required penetration depth. Always perform a test on a representative area to estimate actual coverage.
Once treated — keep it simple.
Cleaning during install
- +Tools: water, or an acidic solution for cured residue
- +Skin: soap and water
- +Splashes on glass / aluminium: flush immediately
Long-term maintenance
- +Do not use cleaners with pH < 7
- +For floors, use soap formulated for silicate-containing concrete
- +No re-application required — protection is permanent
No known harmful effects — but apply the basics.
Use only in well-ventilated areas. Protect airways against spray mist, which may cause irritation. There are no known harmful effects, but we recommend wearing gloves and safety goggles during application. Read and understand the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before starting work.
