CASABLANCA, MOROCCO

Casablanca is the largest city in Marocco with approx. 3.4 million inhabitants. It has the country’s largest port, is Morocco’s economic hub and an important tourist destination.

A 2.5 metre diameter concrete pipe has been laid under the city to collect sewage and wastewater from the inhabitants. The pipe is 24 km long and the project was a collaboration between French and Moroccan companies.

To prevent damage and protect the concrete, the pipe’s interior was treated with 6 coats of Betongtett. The sealer was applied using a specially designed vehicle and treated 117,000 m2.
