Concrete skateparks are subjected to severe abrasion and deterioration caused by users, acid rain, air pollution and frost.
The desired smooth surface is damaged over time, creating an undesirable uneven surface which can often lead to accidents.
If the damaging process is not halted, the rebar and structure will be attacked resulting in high repair costs.
Solving the problem in Stapelbäddsparken, the Nordic region’s largest skatepark, was done using customized concrete abraders fitted with flexible diamond discs.
After sanding, two layers of Controll Innerseal were applied to prevent water absorption in the concrete, followed by a layer of Controll Innerseal Plus (+) to create an extra hard, durable and protective surface.
