WASTEWATER IN BERGEN

Large wastewater treatment facilities are required to purify the wastewater of 300,000 people.

Building these facilities in mountainous areas required specialist engineering throughout.

The first site to be completed was the Ytre Sandviken treatment plant followed by three subsequent facilities. It was a demanding project and required the cooperation of Bergen Municipality combined with input from experienced consultants, contractors and suppliers.

The sea environs around Bergen are now much cleaner since these treatment plants have been built and upgraded.

A surface area of more than 40,000 m2 of the concrete that comes into contact with wastewater has been treated with Controll Innerseal.
