DRINKING WATER - HEALTH ANALYSIS

Aqualogy is knowledge shared by more than ten thousand professionals with activities in more than twenty countries, i.e. a large professional team engaged in all parts of project planning, design, construction and maintenance relating to potable water.
Aqualogy has assessed Controll Innerseal in relation to health hazards.
No traces of VOC (Volatile Organic Solvents) or any other substances harmful to health have been found in the product.

ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT OF CONSTRUCTION PRODUCTS

Sweden’s largest and most important property owners and builders joined forces to develop a standard for the environmental assessment of construction products. Housing of the future will be constructed of only environmentally-assessed and environmentally-approved products.

Controll®Innerseal and Controll®Topseal have both been awarded the highest rating by Byggvarubedömningen…a non-profit organisation comprised of Sweden`s largest constructors and property owners.

PUBLIC HEALTH - DRINKING WATER CONTACT

The Norwegian Institute of Public Health carries out toxicological assessments of materials that come into contact with drinking water.

The Institute has carried out a health assessment of Controll®Innerseal and have found that the product is completely safe when used in contact with drinking water.»

SUNDAHUS - ENVIRONMENTAL CLASS

SundaHus in Sweden is a professional supplier of services for environmental and health certification of construction products and buildings. Products are assessed and assigned the letters A to D, where A is best.

Controll®Betongtett, Controll®Betongtett Pluss and Controll®Mufinish have been assigned class B, i.e. the second highest ranking.

WATER ABSORPTION TEST

The Technical University of Munich has tested the ability of Innerseal and Topseal to prevent bricks absorbing water.
One sample was treated with two coats of Innerseal and 1 coat of Topseal.
Subsequent measurements showed that the untreated brick absorbed approximately 20 times more water than the treated sample.

CPR - AUDIT

As the manufacturer of Controll® products, Betongtett AS is certified in accordance with the Construction Products Regulation (CPR), no. 305/2011/EU. The system is designed to ensure that all building products are always up to the mutually agreed EU standards. Our production routines are therefore continuously assessed according to strict rules and regulations with an annual certificate being issued after each audit.

THE GERMAN ECO-INSTITUT GmbH

Contents harmful to health and the environment: Analyses of Controll®Innerseal and Controll®Topseal to find volatile organic compounds (VOC), formaldehyde or other carcinogens.
These analyses are based on the world’s strictest requirements for health and environmental safety.
The results showed no harmful substances.

VATTENFALL - NUCLEAR POWER PLANT

Controll®Innerseal is approved by Swedish Vattenfall and classified as GREEN-2, which means that the product satisfies the requirements for functioning under strict regulations while not damaging the environment.
Controll®Innerseal has undergone a multi-annual field test in the Forsmark 3 nuclear power plant to protect and extend the concrete’s lifespan in the reactor’s wet-well (cooling chamber).

CBI CONCRETE INSTITUTE - SWEDEN

Controll®Innerseal meets all requirements according to NS-EN 1504-2, which sets the standard for sealing, penetration, diffusion, etc.
The product has undergone all of the tests described and more than satisfies all applicable parameters.
Controll®Innerseal also meets the EU regulations that entered into force on 1 July 2013 (CPR).

SINTEF – WATER ABSORPTION TEST

The reference sample was of very poor quality as it had been stored in a laboratory atmosphere for several years, it was very porous and open.
Controll®Innerseal had been applied to the concrete according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
The test resulted in an improvement in the sample to a standard nearly equivalent to waterproof concrete, regardless of which side was treated.

IMASALAB - POST TREATMENT TEST

Imasalab has compared the pH value of untreated and treated concrete.
The result showed a significant increase from 8.8 to 10.1 in the sample after treatment with Controll Innerseal.
Increasing the pH values to this extent is essential in avoiding rebar rust, presenting the option of rehabilitation instead of demolition.
